Phototetch is metal surfacing details that add realism to all the areas of your build from the chassis, to the cockpit, wheels and engine bay
Do you know what type of metal you’re getting when you buy photoetch from other suppliers? It makes a big difference in how easy it is to work with. Is it stainless steal, nickel silver or soft stainless or some unknown metal? Are the parts attached to the tree with “half etched frets” for easy removal? Are the parts that require bending etched on the reverse side along with other important details?
Photoetch requires the use of CA glue but not any CA glue! Make sure to use a non-fogging CA glue which prevents “off-gasing” that can stain the metal finish.
Knowing how to correctly handle photoetch also directly impacts its final appearence. The oils from your hands will stain the metal finish. Scale Motorsport has been designing and selling photoetch details since 1999. We currently have 41 active sku numbers. Our vendors are military and IT contractors used to working within extreme tollerances so the details you’ll get with our photoetch products are the very best in the model industry.
